Start with transcript-based highlight suggestions
Upload a recording with video and audio, or import a permitted video link. After English transcription is available, CastCuts uses editorial rules to suggest spoken passages that may stand on their own. The selection looks for signals such as a concrete example, a contrast or a practical lesson. It can miss an important moment or return fewer candidates when the transcript does not support them. Review the suggestions alongside the source recording.
Look for an insight with enough explanation
The important part of a video podcast depends on the audience and the question you want to answer. A surprising line may attract attention, but a useful highlight also contains the explanation that makes the line meaningful. When reviewing the transcript yourself, look for one complete thought you can preserve in a short excerpt.
- A practical takeaway: what the speaker recommends and when it applies.
- A story and its lesson: what happened, followed by what the guest learned.
- A clear contrast: why one approach differs from another, including the relevant caveat.
- A statistic with context: the number, what it measures, the time period and any source the guest actually provides.
What makes an impressive moment worth sharing?
An impressive podcast moment can be an unexpected admission, a useful demonstration, a memorable story or a new way to explain a familiar problem. Choose a passage that gives your intended viewer a reason to care, then keep the explanation and payoff together. For a surprising insight, include what changed the speaker’s mind. For an emotional story or a funny exchange, watch the source yourself: transcript-based suggestions do not reliably evaluate facial reactions, delivery or visual events.
Treat important facts as claims to check
A transcript tells you what a speaker appears to have said. It does not establish that the statement is true. Listen again before quoting a name, date or number, then check the original source when the claim needs verification. Keep the qualification that separates a personal experience, an opinion and a general claim. CastCuts does not provide automatic fact-checking, source research or a verified list of facts from an episode.
Use timestamps to review a quote in context
Review the timed transcript and use its timestamps to revisit the source passage. Listen before and after the selected moment so a quote does not lose the question it answers. If you are looking for one particular topic, inspect the relevant transcript passages yourself: CastCuts does not currently offer a natural-language search box for finding arbitrary topics across an episode or a library. You can select your own start and end times when a suggestion misses the passage you need.
Turn a reviewed takeaway into a short clip
Choose a complete 1–90 second passage, select full-frame or fixed-crop portrait framing, and correct captions from the timed transcript. Add an opening headline that accurately introduces the idea. Preview the finished render, download the 720 × 1280 MP4 and publish it yourself. Free includes branded exports; Pro removes CastCuts branding from new renders for $9 USD per month. Keep your original recording and download clips within the 24-hour media retention period.
Questions before you start
How do I find viral moments in a podcast?
Review candidates with a clear opening, a complete idea and a useful payoff for your audience. CastCuts can suggest English transcript passages to start from, but it is not a viral moment predictor. It provides no virality score, engagement forecast or guarantee that a clip will go viral. You make the final editorial choice.
Can CastCuts automatically find the best moments in a podcast?
CastCuts provides automatic English transcript-based highlight suggestions using editorial rules. These are candidates for you to review, not a complete list of every important moment or a prediction of the best-performing clip. You can adjust the selection or choose your own timestamps.
Can I find important facts in a video podcast?
You can review the transcript and recording for statements containing useful details, then choose a passage to clip. CastCuts does not automatically verify those statements or generate a verified fact list. Check the original evidence yourself before presenting a guest’s claim as an established fact.
Does CastCuts generate a podcast summary or key takeaways?
CastCuts suggests spoken excerpts and lets you create clips. It does not currently generate a comprehensive episode summary, written show notes or a guaranteed list of all key takeaways. Use the transcript and source recording to make your own editorial notes.
Can I search a podcast for a quote or a specific topic?
You can review the timed transcript and revisit passages by timestamp. There is no dedicated natural-language topic search or search across a podcast library. If you know the passage, use manual timestamps to make the clip even when it was not suggested.
Does the highlight finder support non-English podcasts?
Automatic transcription and transcript-based suggestions currently support English. Translated marketing pages do not mean that those processing features support every website language.
Is the podcast highlight finder free?
Free includes English transcription, transcript-based suggestions and branded clip exports within the displayed account limits. Pro is $9 USD per month for clean new renders, with the same processing limits, 720p output and 24-hour media retention.
