# Choose a podcast clip maker for the way you publish.

Start with your recording, caption language and publishing requirements. CastCuts offers English captioned clips, manual review and 720 × 1280 MP4 downloads; Pro removes CastCuts branding from new renders for $9 USD/month. Compare OpusClip, Vizard, Klap and quso.ai when you need different editing, storage or publishing features.

For independent podcasters choosing a clipping subscription. CastCuts publishes this guide. The comparison uses linked vendor documentation checked October 29, 2026; output quality has not been benchmarked across these tools.

## Compare the workflow before the headline price

A tool can meet a price target and still miss a requirement. First check whether it accepts your original recording and language, lets you correct the edit, and produces the file you need. Then compare billing units and retention.

Podcast clipping tools: a shortlist by requirement, with official sources below

| Tool | What to compare | Check before subscribing |
| --- | --- | --- |
| CastCuts | English captions, reviewed suggestions and downloadable vertical clips | $9 USD/month Pro removes CastCuts branding; 720p and 24-hour media retention on both plans |
| OpusClip | Starter lists multilingual captions, editing and social auto-posting | $15 billed monthly with 150 credits; compare source allowance and export window |
| Vizard | Creator lists 4K exports and scheduling; Business adds a shared workspace | Credits meter uploaded minutes; confirm the selected allowance and billing period in its price selector |
| Klap | AI clipping and a generated-clip allowance | Basic displays 100 clips/month at $14/month billed yearly: $168 for the year; check monthly billing separately |

## Make the cost fit your actual episode

Write down source duration, file size, episodes per month and approved clips you expect to publish. An input-minute allowance and a generated-clip allowance measure different work. Check what consumes a unit, whether a retry uses more, and whether unused allowance expires. An annual price shown per month also needs its upfront annual total.

- CastCuts Pro changes branding on new renders. It keeps Free’s processing limits and queue priority.

- A long recording can fit a duration limit while exceeding a file-size limit. CastCuts sources must contain video and audio and fit both 512 MiB and two hours.

- Compare the total subscription bill and the number of clips you approve. Cost per approved clip is your bill divided by that number; it is undefined when you approve none.

- A free trial, a recurring free allowance and a watermark-free download are separate checks. Verify the exported file during your trial.

## Test the same three moments in each tool

Use one recording you have permission to edit. Keep the source and the intended passages the same across trials. The blank worksheet lets you record your own observations; it contains no scores or claimed test results.

1. Choose one complete guest answer, one two-person exchange and one passage with a name or number. Record the intended start and end times.

2. Compare whether the clip keeps the question, qualification and payoff. Note boundary changes you need to make.

3. Correct the same proper nouns and inspect both speakers throughout each portrait layout. Check the downloaded file at phone size.

4. Record hands-on editing time separately from processing time, then note resolution, branding, expiry and the complete subscription quote.

5. Count only clips you would actually approve for publication. Choose from those observations and your requirements.

## When CastCuts fits the shortlist

Try CastCuts when your source is an English video podcast, you review each excerpt, 720p vertical output meets your needs, and you can save files within 24 hours. Start on Free with branded exports and upgrade only if clean new renders justify $9 USD/month. If you require multilingual transcription, team workspaces, 4K delivery or direct social scheduling, evaluate those requirements in another tool’s current plan.

## Questions before you start

### Which podcast clip maker is best for me?

Choose from the recording language, editing controls, export quality, retention and publishing workflow you need. Test the same passages and compare approved files. This guide provides a shortlist and worksheet, rather than an output-quality ranking.

### Is a free podcast clip maker also watermark-free?

Check the downloaded trial file and the vendor’s current plan. CastCuts Free includes branding; Pro removes CastCuts branding from new renders for $9 USD/month. Free signup by itself does not establish that clean exports are included.

### Can I compare the displayed monthly prices directly?

First confirm the billing period and allowance. For example, Klap’s pricing page displays Basic at $14/month billed yearly, equivalent to $168 for the year. CastCuts Pro is $9 USD billed monthly. These plans use different limits and features; an annual monthly equivalent is not a monthly bill.
